Frankston Station is the extent of the electrified service on the Stony Point Rail line. Frankston Station consists of an island platform with a terminating track serving platform 1 and a continuing track at platform 2. Electrified suburban trains pull into either platform whilst Stony Point diesel services pull into platform 2. Through passengers from Melbourne to Stony Point must change trains at Frankston from the Melbourne to Frankston electrified service to the Frankston to Stony Point shuttle. A large signal box is located at the UP end of the station with several sidings used for the stabling of trains on the east side of the station. The station is staffed on a full time basis.
