Pinaroo Line
The Pinaroo Line once served as an alternative route between Melbourne and Adelaide in addition to the main line via Serviceton. The Pinaroo Line temporarily became the main line in 1995 when the route via Servicton was closed for gauge conversion.
Since this time the South Australian section of the Pinaroo Line to Tailem Bend has also been converted however the Victorian section of the line and the section between the border and Pinaroo remain as broad gauge. The Pinaroo Line remains in use with the exception of a short section between the Victorian border and Pinaroo Station. The Victorian portion of the line servces a number of grain sidings and also gypsum loadings at Cowangie.
