Box Hill Station was reconstructed in the 1980s as part of the grade separation of the former level crossing at Station Street. The tracks were lowered and a new station was built as part of the Box Hill Central shopping complex. Access to the station is through the shopping centre. The station is staffed and contains 4 platforms although only three contain track and are in use. Some trains terminate her during peak periods.
